I greatly enjoyed reading The Demigod Diaries and definitely recommend it. I found Haley’s story to have a mature writing style and approached problems that his dad had not addressed, such as, why monsters can smell the demigods. I found this interesting because Haley was in high school when he wrote this story, but he grew up in this world of Percy Jackson because it was created for him. One of the best part of The Demigod Diaries was getting to read a different interpretation, that still fit in the context created by his dad, when Haley Riordan wrote the short story, Son of Magic. As always, it is fun to be in the world that Rick Riordan has created. If you have been a fan of the Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus series you will definitely want to read this little gem. How could Annabeth ever believe that Luke could be telling the truth? Do giants prefer red or blue velour robes? What would George and Martha, Hermes’s snakes say if given the chance? Can you use Windex on magical objects? Why can monsters smell demigods? Questions that you have had in the back of your mind might even be answered.
